Obituary for Floyd Delton Rush

Floyd Rush
June 10, 1947 – November 14, 2017

Floyd Rush, 70, of Stephenville, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017, in Stephenville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 18th at Cowboy Church of Erath County with Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at Duffau Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home

Floyd was born on June 10, 1947 in Comanche. He married Sharon Griffin on April 6, 1991 in Stephenville. Floyd was a member of the Cowboy Church of Erath County, and served as President of the Stephenville Soccer Assn. several years ago. He lived most of his life in Stephenville. Floyd was a brick mason for over 45 years, retiring after several years at Tarleton State University.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; sons, Johnny and wife Jeanette Rush of Stephenville, Clint and wife Jennifer Rush of Stephenville, and Greg and wife Gail Rush of Brownwood; grandchildren, Dustin, Brent, Amber, Jerrit, Robert, Skylar, Elizabeth, Jaycee, Harley, Paige, Rachel, Sara, and Victoria; great grandchildren, Autumn, Micah, and Talon; brothers, Elbert and wife Mary Ann Rush of North Carolina, James and wife Kay Rush, of North Carolina, George Carpenter, of Longview, Stanley and wife Linda Carpenter of Austin, Gary and wife Romell Carpenter of Gilmer; and Ray and wife Darlene Carpenter of Stephenville; and several nieces and nephews including James and wife Melissa Bailey.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Ruby Carpenter; sister, Teresa Goad; and brother, Delbert Lee Rush.
