Don Sherman Burgan, 80, of Duffau, died Friday, September 29, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, October 2, 2017, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Hico Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Don was born on November 4, 1936, in Duffau to the late Elmer ‘Curly’ and Irene Lackey Burgan. He married Mary Sue Spinks on August 28, 1960 in Hico. Don served his country in the U. S. Navy. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, VFW, and had lived most of his life in Duffau. Don retired after 25 years with Texas Department of Transportation, out of Glen Rose.

Survivors include his wife, Sue; sons, Mark and wife Tammy Burgan of Stephenville and C. B. Burgan of Hico; granddaughters, Brandi and husband Eric Harris of Dublin, Brittney and husband Patrick Kostecka of Stephenville; and Sabrina Burgan of Stephenville; great grandchildren, Emma, Luke, Trenton, and Mia; brothers, Max Burgan of Sweetwater, Kent and wife Betsy Burgan of Mesquite; sisters, Key and husband Jerry Boyd of Belton, Kay and husband Dillard Rape of Belton, Margaret and husband David Tomlinson of Stephenville, and Alma and husband Ronnie Jackson of Stephenville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins;

Besides his parents, Don was also preceded in death by a brother, Earl Burgan; and sisters, Imogene Parker, Nina Jones, and Jackie Rogers.

The Burgan family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Hico Volunteer Fire Department.
