Obituary for Nathion David Griffin

Nathion David Griffin
Nathion David Griffin
August 5, 1970—September 14, 2016

Nathion David Griffin, 46, of Stephenville, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, September 14, 2016.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, September 19th at Cowboy Church of Erath County with Pastor Werth Mays officiating, and burial will follow at JM Cemetery, on the family ranch. Visitation will be 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Sunday at Cowboy Church. Services are under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home.

Nathion was born on August 5, 1970, in Stephenville to Roy Ed and Linda McGough Griffin. He married the love of his life, and high school sweetheart Julie Mills on December 16, 1989 in Stephenville. Nathion spent a large part of his life as a trucker, and in more recent years owned and operated The Hay & Feed Ranch, a feed store, with his wife. He was a member of Cowboy Church of Erath County, a member of the Cowboy Capital Pro Rodeo Association Committee, and a lifelong resident of Stephenville.

Nathion’s life can be best described as one of servitude. First and foremost, he served the Lord, along with his wife, children, family, friends, and all those who became his friends. His constant willingness to give of himself made him a man of many friends. Whether it was the perfect words of encouragement, needed truth, or a perfectly timed call to just B.S., he touched the hearts of many.

Nathion is survived by his wife, Julie; children, Zane and wife Emily, Dalton, Quade, and his princes, Jaydi; mother, Linda Griffin; brother, Paul and wife Neida Griffin; grandmother, Dene McGough; uncle, Dan and wife Joyce McGough; bonus parents, Jay and Debbie Mills; bonus brother, Toby and wife Rona Mills; nephews, Jared and wife Holly Mills, Jace and wife JP Mills, niece, Jalyn and husband Will Snodgress; nephews, Logan and Bryton Griffin; niece, K. K. Griffin; two great nephews and 4 great nieces; and numerous friends.

Nathion was preceded in death by, and will join his father, Roy Ed Griffin; and his Peepaw, Dan McGough.

The Griffin family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Cowboy Church of Erath County, Mission Hospice, or Foster’s Home for Children.
